Agriculture and Entrepreneurship Training for 360 Women and Men from in 30 communities of District #3, Grand Bassa County!!
The EULAP – PARTNERS Programme supports and promotes food and nutrition security in Liberia. As part of its component of the Program, with funding from Concern Worldwide, YONER has just completed a two-week rural agriculture and entrepreneurship training. The training objectives included:
- Strengthening food and nutrition security;
- Increasing income generation;
- Strengthening resilience against shocks;
- Increasing Access to Finance through Village Savings and Loans Association (VSLA)
- Strengthening business development and growth.
Training beneficiaries included 360 Mother Groups (MGs) and Small Holder Farmers (SHFs) and Village Savings and Loans Association (VSLA) members selected from 30 communities in District #3 of Grand Bassa County. The training comprised 7 comprehensive and well-designed modules, which increased capacities in the following areas:
- Organizational Structuring and Development;
- Entrepreneurship Concepts and Mindset;
- Business Registration Requirements, Processes and Cost;
- Marketing and Sales Strategies;
- The Concepts of Product, Place, Pricing and Profit;
- Small Business Bookkeeping and Record Keeping, Product Development, Branding, Packaging and Delivery
- Agriculture and Agri-Business Plan Development
The EU-funded PARTNERS Programme has adopted a new and strategic food security development system approach. The program targets improving food and nutrition security and increasing income and resilience against shocks in rural communities of Liberia. The PARTNERS Programme is implemented by a consortium of 3 INGOs namely, Welthungerhilfe (WHH) as Lead, ZOA and Concern Worldwide. YONER Liberia is one of the 8 local partners, implementing in 7, including Bomi, Grand Bassa, Grand Cape Mount, Grand Kru, Margibi, Rivercess, and Sinoe Counties.
